If I could name only one ICT trader that provides incredible value to its students, it would be Hydra. Its 3-day workshop, which was available for just $80, definitely exceeded all my expectations, and in this review, I want to explain why.

The course, or workshop, as Hydra calls it, focuses in detail on trading breakers, inverse fair value gaps, and turtle soups. Each of the aforementioned ICT concepts is the subject of a several-hour video in which Hydra explains in a very understandable way how to put the newly acquired information into practice.

Each entry setup is well explained and demonstrated with several examples. Hydra claims to achieve a long-term win rate oscillating between 60 and 80 percent with these setups. Well, given what he showed during the backtesting session, I have no reason to doubt this.

He trades all setups only in macro time, which, based on his experience, significantly increases the success rate of a given trade. Hydra’s macros are basically 20-minute intervals around a full hour and a half an hour, for example, 8:20 to 8:40 or 9:50 to 10:10. They take two forms: manipulation and expansion/distribution macros.

Hydra’s trading style is scalping, so you will rarely see him hold a trade for more than half an hour. I believe it has something to do with the macros mentioned. If the setup is valid and the timing is right, the price will often get to the target quickly. That’s just the magic of these macros.

What I really love, though, is that Hydra spent significant time backtesting the setups presented on the last day of the workshop. During this session, everyone could see how easy trading can be when one has a well-thought-out and tested trading system. Although Hydra only tested less than a month of data, it was evident that his approach could generate interesting results. The backtest ended up with the following numbers: 14 trades, 85.71% win rate, 21.53% return.

Of course, 14 trades are not a sufficient sample of data to evaluate any strategy. However, it was definitely nice to see that Hydra, unlike many others, is trying to prove that what it sells works. I wish other ICT lecturers would adopt this attitude.

It should also be mentioned that even though the workshop is designed for complete ICT beginners, I recommend that you at least study the ICT Core Content before watching it. This will give you a better understanding of what Hydra is talking about and help you familiarize yourself with other ICT concepts as well.

Hydra also offers a six-month mentorship, which I’m not a part of. Currently, my mentor is Zeussy, and hence, I devote all my free time to studying his style of trading market maker models. However, if the opportunity arises, I would be happy to join Hydra’s mentorship in the near future. Scalping is my number one trading style, and I’m always eager to learn new techniques.

So, what is my final assessment? From the previous lines, you probably understood that I really like the way Hydra does trading and teaching. Therefore, my rating is 8/10. Unfortunately, I lack solid evidence that his approach is effective in the long term, so I can’t give him a perfect rating.

At the time of writing this review, Hydra’s workshop was available for $150, which is still a ridiculous price for the value you get. So, if my review has convinced you of its qualities, definitely consider buying the workshop or mentorship.
